model rocket

2025

really fun project - made me fall in love with engineering.

the first version failed on launch.

what we learned

after that we studied how rockets work: thrust, how much of a difference the fins make, and weight.

v2

we used that to build v2, which launched.

v1 - the first launch, which failed. it leaves the pad, its smoke trail loops over in the sky, and it heads back down toward the field.
v2 - launch off the pad in a grassy field - it climbs out of frame, trailing smoke.
